“According to NIBRS crime data, there have been 6,110 violent crimes in the city since the beginning of the year, including 607 sexual assaults, 1,099 robberies, 76 murders, and 4,328 aggravated assaults. “This represents a 5.58 percent increase in violent crime alone from the three-year average,” the outlet said.

“There have also been 36,580 property crimes in the city since the beginning of the year, including 11,015 motor vehicle thefts,” it added.
