Boulder, Colorado – A Unique Addition to College Sports
In an effort to stand out in the evolving landscape of college sports marketing, Colorado has unveiled a sideline bathroom branded by Deion Sanders during its opening game against Georgia Tech.
This isn’t just a lighthearted joke about bathrooms.
Sanders, the Colorado coach, has been diagnosed with bladder cancer, requiring him to use the restroom frequently. The portable privacy tent is conveniently located near the Buffalo Bench, ensuring he doesn’t have to venture far when nature calls.
Earlier this month, Sanders candidly discussed his reliance on social media, expressing, “I wasn’t joking! I’m really dependent on you all. I don’t feel ashamed about taking care of myself or getting health screenings.” His comments drew responses from Rely on Underwear.
Over the summer, Sanders focused on his health, undergoing treatment for bladder cancer. Last month, his doctor confirmed he was healed, revealing that a part of his intestine had been repurposed to function as a bladder.
This season marks his third with the Buffaloes, but it will be the first without his sons, Chedur and Shiro. Last year, the team finished with a 9-4 record.
Colorado will face Georgia Tech on the football field for the first time ever, a matchup that has historical ties, dating back to when both teams shared the national title in 1990.
The Buffaloes are also commemorating their late coach, Bill McCartney, who passed away in January 1984, with uniform patches.
