The search is ongoing after a 75-year-old woman and her Irish setter went missing while hiking in the Colorado mountains on Sunday.
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office said that around 8:40 p.m., a resident waved deputies down to advise them that a family member, Jennifer Hahn, had not returned from a hike on Triangle Peak.
Triangle Peak Trail is located in the Snowmass Canyon area of the Roaring Fork Valley near Aspen.
The family did not know Hahn’s exact plans but told deputies his car was parked at the Triangle Peak trailhead, where Hahn hikes three to four times a week.
Authorities say children were attacked and trampled by an aggressive female moose at a local park.

The sheriff’s office said the roughly five-mile trail is lightly traveled due to its rugged, rocky terrain, and that it has multiple crossroads near its highest point.
On Sunday night, a team of volunteers from Aspen Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) headed to the Triangle Peak trailhead to search for Hahn, but the search was called off just after 2:30 a.m.
The search continued Monday morning and involved 30 MRA volunteers, a helicopter, a Colorado State Fire Marshal’s utility aircraft and a team of dogs and trainers from the Search and Rescue Dog Society of the United States (SARDUS).

Fox News Digital reached out to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday to ask about the status of the search but did not receive a response.
The sheriff’s office said Hahn is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds, has shoulder-length white hair and brown eyes.
She was believed to be wearing a green T-shirt or long-sleeved shirt and jean shorts.

Authorities also believe Hahn may have been hiking with Tawny, a 3-year-old Irish setter who may be timid. The sheriff’s office urges the public to use caution when approaching Tawny if spotted.
“We understand and truly appreciate the public’s desire to assist in the search effort. We are using specialized aircraft equipped with equipment that can detect motion using heat sensors,” said Pitkin County Deputy Sheriff Alex Burchetta. “If there are unauthorized individuals in the search area, the equipment could falsely identify someone who is not our intended target. Our goal is to search for and find Jennifer.”
“We don’t want someone else to get injured and have their efforts in achieving that goal hindered.”
