Columbia U. hires former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to teach

Columbia University has tapped Mike Pompeo's former Secretary of State to lead courses on diplomacy, decision-making and organizational leadership starting next month.

Pompeo, who served in the Trump administration from 2018 to 2021, was pressured by Columbia as a Fellow at the Ivy League School's Institute of Global Politics, and other elite schools to show openness to conservative ideas. It plays a role because it is on the move. Reported by the Wall Street Journal.

“The Academy cannot be an ivory tower. Keren Yari Miro, Dean of International Destiny of the Dean of the Colombia Department of Yarimiro, can learn from us, we will ultimately learn from us. This is because we should learn a lot from interacting with practitioners who have ideologies that can do this.

After seeing his security details have been revoked by Trump last month, Pompeo is looking forward to teaching on campus and is looking forward to making “fair, inferred and factual discourse.” He said he is doing it.

“The biggest risk in the United States is that we refuse to teach the next generation about the greatness of our nation,” he told WSJ.

Pompeo intentionally helped the university to quell the controversy faced in recent years, including the allegations that he allowed him to run Amok in Campus following chaos anti-Israel protests. He suggested he was brought to campus.

The former Secretary of State has long been an Israeli ally and has uncontroversially changed decades of US policy by arguing that Israel's illegal settlements in the West Bank are not violations of international law. .

He also oversaw the movement of the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Columbia said the move to hire Pompeo has not spurred political pressure and his recruitment to campus has been in the works for months.
