Comedian Rhett McLaughlin has reportedly obtained a temporary restraining order against a man named Josiah Galvin who has threatened him with violence, including a 9/11-style terror attack.
The comedian and YouTube personality reportedly filed for court protection against Galvin in early May, claiming he had received repeated serious threats. TMZThe nasty letter from Galvin was dated May 6th and included threats to blow up McLaughlin’s office and launch a “911 attack.” According to TMZ, McLaughlin also claimed that Galvin had specifically threatened to kill him.

According to TMZ, McLaughlin said the threat to blow up his office included particularly troubling details, including his address.
The comedian’s court filings said he feared Galvin’s threats of violence would escalate if he found out McLaughlin had filed for a restraining order. McLaughlin also claimed he had hired extra security to protect himself and his property.

According to TMZ, McLaughlin’s complaint alleges that he fears Galvin may attack him or plot acts of violence targeting his live performances.
The comedian and influencer said he was increasingly concerned for the safety of his loved ones and also sought legal protection for his wife, Jessie.

Best known as one half of the internet duo Rhett & Link, McLaughlin is one of YouTube’s biggest content creators and is currently on tour with upcoming shows in Nashville and St. Louis. (RELATED: Judge grants three-year restraining order against famous singer’s son)
According to TMZ, the temporary restraining order will be in effect until McLaughlin’s formal hearing, scheduled for June 5.
