Man Arrested for Shooting Homeless with Water Guns
Houston police recently arrested a 34-year-old man after looking into reports of disabled and homeless individuals being shot with high-powered water guns.
Christopher Casey was charged with assault after mocking a victim and sharing videos of his actions online.
He expressed remorse, stating, “I’m 1,000 percent sorry for what happened. I’m not just saying this because I got caught,” in an interview with KTRK-TV.
Casey, who describes himself as a comedian, has been filming himself driving around Houston, surprising passersby with water pistols since last summer. According to KTRK, he was arrested Thursday for allegedly spraying two men on June 4.
Many of his targets were reportedly homeless or disabled. When questioned about his choice of victims, he remarked, “My videos aren’t just about homeless people.”
In some recorded incidents, he lured a woman into his car with money before spraying her and, in another case, threw food at a man before dousing him.
Casey later defended his actions on Facebook, claiming he cares for these individuals. He shared a video of himself distributing food to the homeless and mentioned, “I gave these people $500 worth of clothes.” Yet, he expressed that sharing positive content didn’t garner much attention online.
In another post, he labeled his behavior as “childish” but maintained it wasn’t intended to inflict harm. “I sincerely apologize for my actions for any hurt feelings I may have caused,” he stated. He believes shooting water guns is a form of harmless fun everyone enjoys at some point, though his critics might disagree.
In a KTRK interview, he held up a cross, asserting his belief in God and that he prays before going out to film. He claimed he doesn’t seek to hurt anyone but does enjoy the attention his videos generate.
Interestingly, he referred to his targets as “zombies” but later clarified that it was more of a commentary on his content, expressing love for everyone involved.
Casey is set to appear in court on Thursday and stated he would stop using water guns, saying, “They took all my water guns… I’m done. I’m not going to shoot anyone anymore.”
