House Committee Subpoenas Biden’s Former Doctor

Chairman James Comer of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has issued a subpoena for testimony from Kevin O’Connor, who served as the White House physician under former President Joe Biden.

This action was taken on Thursday as part of an effort to deepen the investigation into Biden’s cognitive health and newly revealed prostate cancer diagnosis.

Comer highlighted concerns in his accompanying letter, noting, “The committee is interested in whether your financial ties to the Biden family have impacted former President Biden’s evaluation of his own physical and mental abilities to perform as president.” He further questioned if O’Connor had any role in concealing Biden’s fitness for office from the public.

The subpoena mandates O’Connor to provide testimony on June 27. This comes after O’Connor declined an invitation to voluntarily appear before the committee.

In his letter, Comer referenced an earlier communication from O’Connor’s attorney, who mentioned that the refusal to disclose information stemmed from a Washington, DC law that restricts physicians from sharing patient information without consent.

Comer dismissed those claims, asserting, “There is no validity to these arguments. Congress operates separately from the courts, and therefore, nothing prohibits your appearance and testimony regarding your role as the physician for former President Biden.”
