Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) has subpoenaed the director of the Secret Service to testify about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle received a subpoena from the chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee in connection with the public investigation into the assassination attempt on the former president.
President Trump was shot in the ear by a gunman during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, with lawmakers immediately calling for a detailed report on the deadly incident and the former president’s security.
The subpoena “will thwart any attempt by the Department of Homeland Security to vacate her court appearance on Monday,” a spokesperson for the Oversight Committee told Fox News’ Chad Pergram.
