Mr. Reeves concludes best with the Bible's Proverbs 18:22:
Reeves, an undrafted free agent from South Alabama, has been with Washington since 2018, joining the team's practice squad in September after being released by the Eagles.
His 2023 season ended prematurely after undergoing surgery to repair a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Reeves, who earned his first Pro Bowl berth in the 2022 season, took a knee at Northwest Stadium after Washington's 30-24 overtime victory at home over Atlanta.
“That burned a hole in my pocket,” Reeves said later. According to ESPN.
Wally, a physician's assistant, became Reeves' “crutch” as he recovered from a torn ACL.
“You can say a lot about when a person is at their worst and how they deal with it,” he says.
“I went through the worst time last year with a torn ACL (rupture). I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t be my own man, I couldn’t do it on my own. She was my rock.”
With Sunday's Week 17 win, the Commanders, led by first-year head coach Dan Quinn and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, advanced to the postseason for the first time since 2020.
Washington enters its final game of the season against the Cowboys on Sunday, 11-5.
