Cincinnati Couple Relieved After Stolen Car and Pet Are Recovered

A couple from Cincinnati, Ohio, experienced a wave of relief when both their stolen vehicle and cherished pet were found in their own parking lot.

The incident took place on Saturday evening. Jimmy Herman and Olivia Molina’s car, as reported by local news, was targeted by thieves while they were in the Rockwood area. At the time, their dog, Dolly, was in the vehicle. Herman had left the car running and locked while he went into a restaurant to pick up a pizza order.

Upon realizing their car and Dolly were missing, the couple reached out to their online community for assistance. Molina shared her initial thoughts, saying, “The first thing that came to my mind was ‘Oakley Hyde Park Mama’s.’ I figured I’d get help there.” She began receiving messages from strangers as she searched the area, with many offering to help.

The couple also posted information online, and it turned out to be useful. Local news mentioned that pictures of someone thought to be Dolly and a man using a drone played a part in locating her.

Dolly was eventually discovered in East Walnut Hills, abandoned after a night spent alone. Meanwhile, the police found the couple’s car in East Price Hill, where criminals had disabled the tracking system and removed the license plate.

Interestingly, Herman was carrying a keychain when he entered his car for the order. Still, a thief can potentially unlock a car even if it’s running. It’s a grim reminder of how quickly things can go wrong.

The couple expressed immense gratitude towards the neighbors who helped in the search. Herman said, “It’s all thanks to everyone. I can’t thank the community enough.” Molina shared via social media that she was thrilled to have found her friend Dolly.

She posted, “The people who abandoned her are the absolute worst, but we’re truly touched by the community’s kindness. Thank you, everyone!”

Thinking about keeping things low-key for now, Herman said, “Dolly won’t be doing much for a while. She’ll just be at home barking at the delivery guys.” It was noted that Molina’s brother-in-law played a role in locating the dog after getting tips about her whereabouts.

Upon finding her, Molina remarked that Dolly was shivering and dirty, covered in sticks, which was quite the sight after such a distressing ordeal.
