AI Startup Hires ‘Masturbation Consultants’
An artificial intelligence startup has reportedly gathered over 100,000 job applications for positions where individuals are compensated to explore their own experiences. A spokesperson revealed that Joi AI is seeking a ‘masturbation consultant’ who will be paid $2,000 to document the impacts of its ‘daily guided masturbation feature’ over four weeks.
The job postings indicate that the ideal candidate should be “clearly observant and impossible to blush,” able to articulate sensations in a way that rivals a sommelier discussing wine, according to ZeroHedge.
“We are recruiting 10 masturbation consultants.
$2,000/month to test the new daily guided masturbation feature and track its impact on stress, sleep, and mood.
Yes, it’s true.
Yes, you receive money.”
AI spokeswoman Julie Levin shared that the initiative aims to research and challenge the stigma surrounding masturbation. She mentioned the goal is to show that this practice is a healthy component of overall wellness. Participants will follow a daily routine for a month, reporting effects on their stress levels, sleep quality, mood, focus, and energy. At the end of the study, they plan to share the findings.
“The response has been incredible. We’ve received over 100,000 applications in just two days,” Levin noted, calling it possibly one of the most sought-after job postings at the moment.
“We want people to do what most adults do for free, but provide compensation for scientific exploration. We genuinely feel that this is simply a natural part of human behavior and shouldn’t be considered taboo. Ultimately, though, individuals should decide if this opportunity resonates with them,” she added when questioned about concerns over monetizing masturbation.
Originally named EVA AI, Joi AI was rebranded in April 2025. According to a press release, the platform aims to foster ‘AI relationships,’ enabling users to connect with both digital versions of real celebrities and custom creations. With a workforce of 22, the company has raised $3 million to date.
