The Minnesota Department of Agriculture notified FSIS after several people became ill after consuming ground meat from Wolverine Packing Company, according to a statement.
FSIS took action on November 13 after 15 cases were confirmed in the state between November 2 and November 10.
According to FSIS, the recall affects raw ground meat products with a “use by date” of November 14th and frozen ground meat products labeled with a “use by date” of October 22nd.
Potentially contaminated ground meat can also be identified by the establishment number “EST.” This is located inside the USDA mark of inspection, according to the announcement.
“FSIS continues to work with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and Department of Health on this investigation,” the recall announcement reads. (Related: Frozen waffle products recalled due to possible listeria contamination)
