A company has unveiled a canine companion robot equipped with a flamethrower.
According to Throwflame, Thermonator is the first-ever flame-throwing quadruped robot dog.
The Ohio-based company announced that the $9,420 bot will be available for purchase to the general public and government agencies for the first time.
The Thermonator can be remotely controlled via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to fire jets of fire up to 30 feet.
The device can avoid obstacles, jump through the air, has laser aiming, and can operate for one hour.
Throwflame suggests the robot could be used for wildfire control and prevention, entertainment shows, and even clearing snow and ice from driveways.
A chilling video shows a Thermonator crawling through a forest, burning down its surroundings.
Throwflame said: “Pair this quadruped with her ARC flamethrower and you can fire on demand anywhere.”
