Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) wrote to MLB's Commissioner Rob Manfred, stating his belief that Trevor Bauer was ousted from the league due to his support for Trump.
Bauer was suspended in 2021 in 324 games for violating MLB's joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policies. His suspension has dipped to 194 (representing the administrative leave in 2021 and missed time throughout the 2022 season), but was still released by the Los Angeles Dodgers before the start of the 2023 season. As a result, he played professionally in Japan in 2023 and Mexico in 2024.
The majority of Bauer's legal issues lie behind him, maintaining his innocence, and after being charged with fraud after forgery of pregnancy and asking Bauer for an abortion, he maintains his innocence while another accuser faces 16 years in prison.

But it's been almost four years since Bauer last won the MLB mound, and Burrison is taking MLB to the task for why.
“Despite the fact that the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office refused to pursue criminal charges against him, Bauer was suspended after 324 games. Burrison wrote.
“Given that no legal action has been taken against Bauer, I am concerned that his absence may be linked to certain political statements that deviate from the league orthodox he won. Bauer said his belief that his fellow-people should not be underestimated when dealing with social media posts was against MLB's diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.

“Given the timing and severity of Bauer's suspension, it is reasonable to question whether MLB's actions were more affected by his political stance and criticism. [Manfred] And MLB has been undermined by the shortcomings of judicial review and evidence rather than allegations against him. ”
Bauer, who once said “there may be no other option,” told Fox News Digital in a sit-in interview last year to sue the league for his ouster, that he has never done anything “criminal” but he still needs to look in the mirror and work on himself after the allegations.
“Anyone who wants to sit and listen with me wants to play the second half of his career in a better way than the first half,” Bauer told Fox News Digital. “I want to be an example where you can make mistakes, recognize them, adjust them, and become better in the future. That's something humans have to do and should be constantly doing.”
covid-shortedeneded 28 starts in the 2020 season and his abbreviation 2021 campaign, his ERA was 2.24, and he hit 11.8 batters per nine innings with 0.92 whips. He was named the 2020 NL Cy Young Award recipient.

Bauer and Lindsey Hill, who accused the pitcher of be-beat and sexually abusing her in 2021, settled their lawsuit later last year. Bauer revealed the text from Hill. Hill said Bauer would be her “next victim.” Hill has since said that MLB has more evidence of Bauer's alleged misconduct.
