Details Emerge on Deadly Connecticut Home Invasion
Newly released court documents suggest that revenge could have been a key motivator behind a tragic attack that occurred at a couple’s residence in a quiet coastal town in Connecticut. Reports indicate that Frederick Warner, aged 69, was discovered dead with several gunshot wounds in his home located on East Broadway in Milford. His partner survived, but suffered a gunshot wound to the head and is still recuperating from those injuries, according to police information.
Two individuals, Ivan Barias-Flolimon, 24, and Stua López-Reyes, 25, were arrested in connection with the incident that took place on June 3. The Department of Homeland Security has identified both suspects as Dominican nationals.
Arrest of Suspects Shocks Local Community
As the investigation unfolded, an unsealed arrest warrant revealed that the surviving victim had recently terminated an employee and believed that this individual might have played a role in the attack. Messages exchanged between the fired employee and Barias-Flolimon highlighted intense emotions, suggesting a possible connection. The nature of their relationship remains unclear, though it’s certainly troubling.
The victim suspected the employee of misappropriating funds from a real estate business, which adds another layer to the story. The fired employee had reportedly texted Barias-Flolimon, expressing anxiety over her former boss allegedly making her life difficult. His response seemed to escalate tensions, as he texted back that he would “make her life hell.”
Following the two-month search, U.S. Marshals captured a second suspect believed to be involved in the fatal home invasion. López-Reyes was identified by the victim from surveillance footage and is regarded with particular trepidation, as she expressed fear of him during the investigation.
Charges and Future Proceedings
Both suspects are facing serious charges, including murder and assault against an elderly individual, and are currently in custody awaiting their next court appearance. Meanwhile, the DHS has indicated intentions to revoke their green cards.
