Jeff Dunetz Remembered for His Contributions
Jeff Dunetz, a conservative blogger and historian who previously contributed to Breitbart news, passed away quietly on Thursday at the age of 67 after struggling with various health issues over the past year.
A New Yorker through and through, Jeff was known for his humor and good-natured attitude. Even as he faced his health challenges, he maintained a cheerful demeanor and often made light of his situation.
He attended Oceanside High School in Oceanside, New York, later pursuing political science and government at the University of New York, Oswego. He not only earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Albany but also an MBA from Hofstra University.
Jeff dedicated a significant portion of his career to magazine marketing and advertising, lending his skills to well-known brands like Disney Publishing, Nickelodeon, Discovery Magazines, MTV, and Marvel Comics.
However, it was through blogging and commentary on current events that Jeff truly found his calling. He was part of the burgeoning center-right blogosphere in the early 2010s, officially launching lidblog in 2013, where he provided insights on politics and history related to Israel. Through his efforts, he emerged as a prominent self-made blogger, appearing across various media platforms including television, radio, and podcasts.
Dunetz’s body of work includes a wealth of commentary on Israeli history and American politics, leaving behind a treasure trove of information that continues to resonate today.
In addition to his own blog, he contributed to several outlets, such as Aish.com, Breitbart News, Daily Caller, and the Washington Times, among others.
Jeff also hosted the Lid Radio Show, which aired on networks like SHR and High Plains Talk Radio.
Joel Pollak, associated with Breitbart News, recognized Dunetz as a trailblazer in the conservative blogosphere.
“Jeff was an early warrior of conservative new media. I’d often see him at CPAC press events, where we would engage in passionate discussions about the day’s issues,” Pollak reflected.
He is survived by his wife Lois, son Perry, daughter Alexa, and his first grandchild, Benjamin. Dunetz’s passing is felt by many, and his unique perspective will be missed by his followers.
