‘Conservative Counter-Revolution:’ University of Florida Fires All DEI-Related Employees

The University of Florida has fired all employees related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), according to Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist and CRT expert.

“The University of Florida has fired all employees associated with DEI. A conservative counter-revolution has begun,” Rufo said in a FridayX/Twitter post.

In his post, Rufo attached a screenshot of what appears to be an internal email sent from University of Florida officials to faculty and staff.

The email states that in order to comply with Florida Board of Governance regulations, the university is closing the “Office of the Chief Diversity Officer,” eliminating “DEI positions and management appointments,” and The company announced that it would suspend “contracts with focused external vendors.” Prohibited Expenditures.

University of Florida officials added that employees whose positions have been eliminated will be paid for 12 weeks, during which time they can apply for new jobs at the school.

“Human Resources is working to expedite the interview process and respond to all applications within 12 weeks,” the email said.

Additionally, the email added, “The Office of the Chief Financial Officer will reallocate approximately $5 million in funds previously used for DEI-related costs to a Faculty Recruitment Fund administered by the Office of the Provost.”

The email concluded by reassuring faculty that “the University of Florida is and always will be steadfast in its commitment to universal human dignity.”

“As we thoughtfully incorporate a wide range of ideas and perspectives to educate our students, we will continue to foster a community of trust and respect for all members of the Gator Nation,” the email claimed.

As Breitbart News reported, DEI that prioritizes skin color over merit is plaguing universities across the country.

Last week, the Florida Board of Governors I voted Prohibits state spending on DEI programs at all public universities in the state and defines DEI as “any program that classifies individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation.” , campus activities, or policies that promote discriminatory or preferential treatment of individuals based on such classification. ”

In 2022, Dr. Jordan Peterson announced he would resign from his tenured position at the University of Toronto, citing a “terrible ideology of diversity, inclusion, and equity” that is “destroying education and business.”
