Conservatives respond after 'The View' host claims they fear appearing on the show.

Conservatives Express Interest in Joining “The View”

After a recent episode featuring actress Cheryl Hines, who is married to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” expressed a desire for more conservative guests. Joy Behar remarked that she was “terrified” at the thought of some Republicans appearing on the show.

In response, conservative radio host Clay Travis took to X, suggesting that Behar’s statement wasn’t truthful, claiming she’d happily engage with them if given the opportunity.

Travis also shared a message from a producer at “The View,” indicating interest in him and co-host Buck Sexton visiting the show to discuss differing perspectives, which could benefit both audiences. Sexton pointed out that the show generally has little affection for conservative voices.

Riley Gaines, a well-known advocate for women’s sports, mentioned that she was turned down when asked to appear, a comment made in light of Behar’s assertion that Republicans were not inclined to join the dialogue on the show. Similarly, conservative figure Matt Walsh noted he had also been turned down.

Emails revealed that “The View” has, in the past, rejected offers for prominent conservatives like Gaines, Walsh, and columnist Karol Markowitz. Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer reported that her agent was informed there wasn’t availability for her appearance on Veterans Day.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who has been on the show before, claimed he was turned down during a promotional tour for a book, referencing Gaines’ social media post to express solidarity.

Jennifer Sey, of XX-XL, commented on social media, saying, “This is hilarious. We are not afraid of you. We were approached to be on your show and you reject us all.”

Many others also voiced similar sentiments online. Over the years, the show has featured various conservative guests, including Cruz, Caitlyn Jenner, Donald Trump Jr., former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Senator Marsha Blackburn. Critics argue that supporters of former President Donald Trump are often underrepresented. Alyssa Farrah Griffin, the show’s lone conservative co-host, has frequently critiqued the Trump administration alongside her more liberal peers, all of whom have backed Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election.

Ana Navarro, who identifies as a Republican, notably hosted one night during the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

“The View” has declined to comment on the matter.
