With the news cycle moving as fast as ever, the Trump vs. Harris ABC News presidential debate has been largely forgotten.
However, there is something very important to remember from this discussion. That's when host David Muir “fact-checked” President Trump when he claimed crime was on the rise.
Because it turns out that the former president, who made that comment seem like a crazy “conspiracy theorist,” was right. A new footnote reveals that the FBI has announced major changes to the crime statistics Muir was citing.
“The FBI messed up the numbers. The Crime Prevention Research Center reported that the FBI secretly changed 2022 crime data.” glenn beck Report on the “Glenn Beck Program.'' Meanwhile, in 2022, cities such as Phoenix, New York City, and Los Angeles were unable to submit crime data.
“Then they say, this is the report that's done and crime is going down. Well, now they say, 'Well, it's not down 2.1 percent, it's actually going up. ''' Glenn said, noting that the update now includes 80,029 more violent crimes, 1,600 more murders and 7,780 more rapes. Robberies increased by 33,000 and aggravated assaults increased by 37,000.
“Well, that seems like a big mistake,” Glenn commented, shocked. “But here's where it gets insidious. They just put this in a footnote. They didn't make a big deal out of it. They keep fiddling with the numbers. The result is a headline that says, “We're good,'' and then a month later, “We're not that good.''
Glenn doesn't believe this is an accident because the numbers are so astronomically different from the truth.
“They've given Democrats the talking point that “crime is actually going down,'' and that if you don't trust your eyes and listen to the media, you already know what the truth is. “Everyone knew that,” he says.
