Caitlin Clark is on track to become the highest-paid female basketball player in history — and Ice Cube has made her an offer she might not be able to refuse.
The “Good Day” rapper offered Clark $5 million to play in his 3-on-3 league, “BIG3.”
“We were going to keep the offer quiet while Caitlin Clarke was playing in the Championship. But I won’t deny that it’s already out there now. We made a historic offer. Why wouldn’t we? Kaitlyn is a generational athlete who could have tremendous success in the BIG3,” Cube tweeted at X.
Jason Whitlock praises Ice Cube’s moves.
“I love this,” he tells Steve Kim. “I think this could be the wave of the future.”
“Who wouldn’t want to see Caitlin Clark compete against the boys in the BIG3?” he added.
However, Kim does not share Jason’s feelings.
“We’re going to turn Ice Cube’s league into DI3 vs. DI3,” Kim says. “What is this? A mural in gym class?” Kim says.
“In this three-on-three format, she will be outmatched physically and athletically against the other men,” he added.
While Kim makes a good point, Whitlock still believes what Ice Cube is doing is “smart.”
“He’s going to disrupt the entire WNBA. If he gets a few women into the BIG3, the WNBA will be a huge success. There’s no purpose anymore. Let’s send everyone to go play somewhere overseas.” Whitlock says.
