Cops catch man drenched in blood after he allegedly bludgeoned wife to death with clothing iron, dumped her dogs on freeway

Police allegedly found a blood-soaked Texas man inside his home.

Chance Zene Chavez, 34, was arrested and attacked on murder charges in connection with his wife's death.

“I got the phone and was told I was driving because my daughter wasn't alive anymore.”

Just before 7:30am on Wednesday, police were called to a home in the central northwest area of ​​Houston to investigate “suspecting events.”

Of the four dogs that Chavez is said to have been abandoned, three animals have been discovered thanks to the efforts of friends and strangers on social media.

The fourth dog (a 10-year-old dachshund named Peaches) remains missing.

“We are very grateful for the support we received from people we don't know about. Finding a dog felt like a miracle,” Bell said.

The family alleged that Kristen Chavez was “a victim of constant domestic violence and abuse, which ultimately led to murder by her own husband.” The family added Kristen's “a brave attempt to be free from the destructive relationship has ended tragically.”

“The bail for Chance Zane Chavez, which was initially set at $500,000, was unfairly reduced to $250,000,” the petition said. “We advocate for an increase in bail and the maximum penalty for such heinous crimes.”

The petition continues, “The case must serve as a standard and ensure that domestic abusers understand the critical consequences of their actions and block potential offenders.”

“Kristen deserves that justice and countless victims of domestic violence deserve to see that justice is applied,” the petition concludes.

The family received the news on Monday. The judge increased Zane Chavez's Chance bond to $500,000 during the hearing. The state had demanded that bonds be raised to $1 million.
