A shocking video has surfaced showing a high-speed Corvette colliding head-on with a tour bus filled with travelers in a picturesque California coastal town.
The frightening incident, captured on May 16 via the bus’s dashcam, took place while the group was exploring the Monterey area along 17 Mile Drive, near Majella Road in Monterey County.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the red Corvette crashed into a bus carrying 48 passengers at a “high speed.”
Footage from inside the bus reveals the Corvette swerved across the double yellow line before crashing into the bus, resulting in a violent impact.
Inside the bus, it was clear just how severe the collision was as passengers were knocked from their seats due to the force of the crash.
The driver of the Corvette sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Incredibly, only one individual on the bus was injured, while the rest escaped without harm.
The driver of the Corvette now faces arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.
In a follow-up post on CHP’s Facebook, the agency urged drivers to refrain from drinking and driving and to maintain safe speeds on the road, adding that reckless decisions can have life-altering impacts for everyone involved.
