‘Cost A Lot Of People Their Jobs’: JD Vance Slams Biden Admin For Deciding Products Would No Longer Be Made In America

Vice President JD Vance on Thursday denounced former President Joe Biden's administration in a speech at Nucor Steel Berkeley to determine that products will be made overseas rather than the United States.

Vance said over the past decades, political leaders had forgotten “the core part of America's national identity” by allowing the United States to rely on foreign power for essential goods. The Vice President said manufacturing facilities like Nucor have struggled very much over the past four years, “destroying environmental regulations” in the Biden administration.

“However, for decades, our leaders had forgotten the heart of America's national identity. They decided that America was no longer a manufacturing force,” Vance said. “Instead, we make what we need for the world and our families. And when the country decides to industrialize my friends, do you know what else they will stop using? Nucor Steel's leadership told Vance that the company's facility in West Virginia “sitted” under the Biden administration because of environmental rules. The Vice President said these types of regulations cost hardworking Americans their good payments manufacturing and wages.

“So when our leadership decides that Americans don't want anything, do you know what we're doing? We sacrifice a lot of money to great businesses and businesses like Nucco.

Vance added that President Donald Trump's administration hopes that American architecture will be “built with American hands and great American steel.”

The Biden administration strived to make manufacturing environmentally friendly by handing over as much as $6 billion in 20 states to reduce the emissions generated by industrial production in March 2024.

The Trump administration has placed mutual tariffs on other countries currently under a 90-day suspension. Many workers in the steel and automotive industry praised the administration's move, saying it would help bring work back and help their industry flourish.
