A local Doge team led by Nigel Farage has disclosed that taxpayers are funding various leisure activities for illegal immigrants, stirring claims that the government is prioritizing immigrants’ needs over those of Indigenous citizens.
Following the management of ten local councils during recent elections, Reform UK has launched a government efficiency initiative aimed at eliminating waste and misuse, inspired by the approaches of Elon Musk and the Trump administration.
After scrapping what is believed to be about £40 million spent on the Green Agenda Project, Farage’s party has unveiled preliminary findings regarding questionable expenditures by UK councils, particularly relating to illegal immigration and asylum seekers.
According to the party, over £118,000 has been spent on fast food chains like Domino’s and McDonald’s. Apparently, there’s also more than £10,000 allocated for streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+, along with expenditures on outings like trips to safari parks and mini-golf.
In Kent County, it was reported that £162,077 was spent on Amazon, including nearly 3,000 transactions for asylum seekers. Additionally, the council spent £70,056 at Argos and over £11,000 on curry from the immigration budget.
Zia Yusuf, a multi-millionaire businessman and leader of the Doge team, remarked on the findings, saying, “It’s evident that those entering the country illegally are enjoying a lifestyle that many taxpayers can’t afford.” He emphasized that families in Britain are finding it difficult to manage their own outings.
Alp Mehmet, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, stated that these revelations highlight “the unseen costs of an unregulated asylum system.” He expressed concern that families are incentivized to send children illegally since minors are more likely to be accepted.
Kent County Council defended their spending by claiming most expenditures were for unaccompanied minor immigrants, asserting that asylum seekers aged 18 to 25 are offered governmental support like housing.
The findings from the Reform Doge Team are limited to councils governed by the Populist Party, suggesting that actual local spending on illegal immigrants could be significantly higher. Moreover, this doesn’t include federal expenditures. A recent study indicated that housing tens of thousands of asylum seekers costs taxpayers approximately £4.7 billion annually. In total, the government reportedly spent a record £5.38 billion on asylum seekers in the 2023/24 period, reflecting a 36% increase from the previous year.
