Eliza Finn Ossea, a local, expressed her admiration in front of a tribute as the funeral procession unfolded. Meanwhile, Birmingham’s mayor, Zafar Iqbal, stated the city’s pride in honoring their native son, mentioning that Ozzy’s recent recognition in Birmingham and his notable appearance at a concert just weeks prior underscored the importance of this farewell.
“Ozzy was more than just a musical icon. He truly represented Birmingham,” Iqbal noted. “We felt it was our responsibility to give him a dignified goodbye before his private family funeral. It was only right.” He emphasized the significance of this tribute as a reflection of the city’s love for the artist.
As reported by people, Osbourne, who died on July 22, will be commemorated in a smaller, more intimate gathering with close friends and family. A source close to the family mentioned they cherished the moments spent together with him prior to his passing.
“They plan to celebrate his life in a way he would have appreciated. Ozzy wouldn’t want any kind of somber farewell,” the source added, referring to Osbourne’s wishes for a lively tribute rather than a funeral filled with sadness.

To him, planning his funeral wasn’t morbid, but rather a sensible gesture for those he would leave behind. He had a unique understanding of life and pointed out that many miss the joys in it, especially in the rock star lifestyle.
In the end, what mattered most to him was that the gathering served as a time for gratitude rather than sorrow.
