Immigration Policies Under Different Administrations
Former President Barack Obama reportedly deported a higher number of immigrants compared to President Trump. Yet, many on the left continue to label Trump’s immigration supporters as heartless and harsh.
“Biden also deported over a million people,” commented Blaze TV host Allie Beth Stuckey. She brought up past immigration enforcement actions under both Biden and Obama, questioning public awareness of these actions. “Did you hear about the ICE raids during those times? And what about the reports of children held in cages?” she asked. “These issues existed even then.”
Stuckey expressed concern over lost children and other heavy topics. “Have you heard about the human and drug trafficking that persisted during these administrations?” she queried.
“It’s not that these issues didn’t happen; rather, there seems to be a media bias towards the Democratic Party, which prevents criticism of Trump,” she suggested.
She labeled this phenomenon as “weaponizing empathy.” Stuckey feels that when empathy is used to pressure individuals into prioritizing the welfare of distant strangers, it can be misguided.
“Countries function like families on a larger scale, prioritizing their citizens’ safety and security. It’s not out of hatred for others but out of love for one’s own people. It’s practically impossible to meet everyone’s needs equally,” Stuckey explained, adding that this principle is grounded in her understanding of government roles. “Romans 13 suggests that governments were meant to uphold justice and care for their citizens, implying that nations and borders are rooted in divine intention.”
