Country singer Lauren Alaina’s father, JJ Suddeth, died Tuesday, the singer announced on social media.
The “Road Less Traveled” singer revealed that he will be cancelling some concerts to mourn with his family.
“I lost my dad last night and I’m still at a loss for words,” she said in an Instagram post.

“I regret to inform you that I will not be able to perform at my three scheduled shows this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte as I am returning home to be with my family.”
The cause of her father’s death was not immediately known.

“Thank you all for your prayers and understanding,” she wrote, concluding her post with the nickname her father gave her: “Pinky.”

Alaina has been on tour with Jason Aldean and was scheduled to perform at the Carowinds Summer Music Festival.
A representative for Alaina did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Last month, Lauren paid tribute to her father with a series of photos from her wedding day posted to Instagram.
“Happy Father’s Day to MY DAD with a heart the size of Texas!! Love you dad. Hoping you have a great day fishing,” she wrote. “With love, your pooper.”

The country music world has shown their support for Alaina during this difficult time, with Martina McBride writing, “Sending you lots of love.”
“I love you and I’m so sorry,” Trisha Yearwood said.
