Hensby said the miniature zebu calf, affectionately named “Cade,” is now the store’s ambassador.

“I wasn’t planning on getting a cow, but now that I have one, what do I do with it? I treat it like a dog and take it to work,” he says. he told WSVN-TV.

The young cow became a so-called “local celebrity” after being nursed back to health and brought to the store.

“He brings a lot of smiles and a lot of kids,” Peyton Atwood, one of Cade’s co-workers at the store, told the station.

Mr. Atwood added that the cows “gave a new generation an interest and warmed up the atmosphere in gun stores a little bit.”

Hensby said Cade is not shy with customers, adding that he always takes photos with curious patrons and asks them to pet him.

“As long as we can get him in the car over the next few months, he’s going to be a mainstay here,” Hensby said.

“He goes everywhere with me.”
