Jerry Jones Reflects on Gesture During Cowboys Game
After the Dallas Cowboys’ impressive win against the New York Jets, team owner Jerry Jones expressed regret over a gesture he made towards fans during the game. In a video that surfaced on social media, Jones was seen flipping his middle finger, sparking debates on whether he might face fines, similar to penalties imposed on other team owners for similar actions.
On the following Tuesday, Jones addressed the incident on 105.3 The Fan. He described the moment as unfortunate, stating, “That was a shame. A surge of Cowboys fans were coming forward, right after my final touchdown. I made the wrong show on my hands. The intention was a thumbs up.”
Despite this misstep, Sunday was largely celebratory for the Cowboys, who secured a 37-22 victory. Quarterback Dak Prescott delivered an exceptional performance, throwing four touchdown passes — two to tight end Jake Ferguson, and one each to George Pickens and Javonte Williams.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer chimed in, noting, “I think we’re spoiled. Prescott is one of the best players out there, and one of the best leaders too. He plays with confidence.” Fans echoed this sentiment, chanting “MVP” in support of Prescott during the game.
Reflecting on the victory, Prescott shared his thoughts: “We saw this come to the simple fact that this team knows how confident we are and what we can do. I knew it was important to take the taste out of my mouth and take it out of my heart.”
With this win, the Cowboys improved their record to 2-2-1.
