DALLAS (AP) — A judge has ordered Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to give up parentage as part of a legal dispute with a 27-year-old woman who claims the billionaire is her biological father. The court upheld the decision to require an expert opinion.
A Texas judge on Wednesday rejected Jones’ appeal of a 2022 ruling in a paternity lawsuit filed by Alexandra Davis. Davis previously claimed in a separate lawsuit that the relationship stemmed from Jones’ relationship with her mother in the mid-1990s.

Jones’ lawyers are challenging the constitutionality of a Texas law requiring genetic testing on Jones.

Jones, 81, and his wife Jean married in 1963. They have three children, all of whom serve in front office roles for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is the team’s president and general manager.

Davis’ original lawsuit alleged that Jones “pursued” Cynthia Davis, who was also married at the time, and whom he met while working for American Airlines in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The settlement states that Jones will pay $375,000 to Cynthia Davis, and that Alexandra Davis will receive “extra monthly and annual funds” from the trust until she reaches the age of 21, as well as 24-year-old, 26-year-old, and 28-year-old Alexandra Davis. It is said that he was required to receive a lump sum when he reached the age of 10.
According to court documents, Jones’ lawyers say Alexandra Davis received “millions of dollars” from Jones during his lifetime.
