Crenshaw says Europeans ‘should be threatening things to' Putin which cause them discomfort

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) said Europeans “say things should be threatened.”

“Ukrainians clearly have seats at the table, and when we try to establish a peace agreement, the US becomes a mediator. Crenshaw discusses the war in Ukraine, “Face the Nation.” ” told CBS News' Margaret Brennan about it.

“Things should be threatened by Putin who actually makes Putin uncomfortable. That's the only language he speaks, and the power,” the Texas Republican added.

Last Wednesday, President Trump said he hopes to meet with Putin many times, implying that the president will likely be the first to meet him in Saudi Arabia.

“I hope we will meet in the end,” Trump said in his oval office. “In fact, we expect him to come here. I'll go there. We'll probably see him in Saudi Arabia too. The first time we'll see him in Saudi Arabia.”

In the arrival of CBS, Crenshaw said European leaders need to talk about “they're going to put their actual troops on the ground.”

“Stop following the lead and actually take the lead. We'll actually hold you back. That's an ideal situation and it'll be a big change in power dynamics when dealing with Putin.” added.

Polish Foreign Minister Radslaw Sikorsky said the Unified European Army “doesn't happen.”

“If you understand… unity of the national army, that won't happen,” Sikorski said. “But I was an advocate for Europe, the European Union, to develop its own defensive capabilities.”
