Crime Victims ‘Politicizing’ Their Losses at RNC

Quentin Fulks, deputy campaign manager for President Joe Biden, said Wednesday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that victims of illegal immigration, crime and fentanyl addiction are “politicizing” the loss of loved ones.

“I wanted to start this morning by responding to some of the outrageous events that occurred last night,” Fulks said. “What you heard was a blatant politicization of the tragic deaths of an American family, without any real action to mourn their loss.”

Fulks appeared to be referring to impassioned speeches given at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night by Ann Funder, Rachel Morin’s brother, and Madeline Brame.

Rachel Morin’s brother recounted the rape and murder of his sister last year, allegedly perpetrated by MS-13 gang members who were undocumented immigrants who successfully crossed the U.S.-Mexico border sometime after Biden became president in late January 2021.

Morin’s suspected killer had been stopped at the border three times before.

Meanwhile, a tearful Ann Funder told the crowd that her 15-year-old son, Westin, died after being pressured by peers to take pills he thought were harmless but were laced with fentanyl.

Similarly, Madeline Brehm Said It’s the story of her 35-year-old Afghanistan War veteran son, Sergeant Hasson Correa, who was brutally beaten and stabbed to death by four strangers in Harlem in October 2018.

Brehm accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) of downplaying and dismissing charges against his son’s two attackers, one of whom has since been released after spending more than a year in Rikers Island.
