Illegal Poker Operations Linked to Former Celebrity Residence
A luxury townhouse in New York, once a retreat for Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, allegedly served as a venue for illegal poker games run by Mafia associates and former NBA players, according to federal authorities.
Located at 80 Washington Place in Greenwich Village, this townhouse was one of two significant sites in Manhattan where major criminal organizations reportedly conducted high-stakes poker games, leading to scams that extracted millions from victims.
The couple resided in the townhouse around 2021, during Jenner’s pregnancy with their second child. Shortly after, they relocated to the West Coast.
They had rented the townhouse, which appeared in a 2023 episode of “The Kardashians.” During that same year, it’s alleged that the residence hosted one of their main poker events.
Notably, neither Jenner nor Scott are named in the federal indictment that implicated over 30 individuals in the operation, and there’s no evidence to suggest they were aware of or involved in any wrongdoing.
This six-story property, situated just moments away from Washington Square Park, has a history of being on and off the market since 2012, eventually selling for around $20 million in 2024.
Along with another location in Kips Bay, this townhouse was reportedly used by criminals who employed former NBA stars to entice high-stakes players. They allegedly utilized hidden devices like rigged shufflers and X-ray tables to defraud their targets of significant sums.
The illegal scheme is said to have started as early as 2019 and was brought to light through an indictment by the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
Interestingly, there was an incident in the fall of 2023 at the same location, where rival gangs clashed on the same night as another poker game, causing tensions to rise among the perpetrators.
The fallout from this conflict led to a violent altercation at the townhouse, with armed individuals reportedly breaking in to intervene.
