Crockett expresses concern about Democratic donors wanting to choose the least risky candidate for 2028.

Representative Jasmine Crockett from Texas recently pointed out that Democrats seem focused on finding the “safest white boy” as a potential candidate for the 2028 presidential election, hinting at a specific candidate favored by party donors during discussions on a podcast.

In a clip shared on Instagram, she expressed concern about the party’s support for women candidates. “Every time we vote for women, we’re losing so far; it’s this horror about people in the party voting for women,” she said, acknowledging the fear of losing while aiming for victory.

This exchange was part of SiriusXM’s “Urban View” town hall discussion, with the full conversation expected to air on May 15th.

Crockett remarked, “So there are a lot of people like, ‘What do you know?’ I mean, I’m just saying it.” She clarified that specific candidates were not being excluded from consideration in the party, suggesting that some donors were backing a particular candidate that isn’t a woman or a person of color.

She referred to these Democratic donors as “them,” indicating their influence in shaping opinions similar to those surrounding former President Joe Biden.

Crockett listed notable figures such as California Governor Gavin Newsom, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and former Vice President Kamala Harris as possible contenders for the Democratic nomination, despite Harris’s previous loss.

It appears Crockett is also eyeing a leadership position within the House Oversight Committee, looking to garner support from fellow Democrats. Reports indicate that she is aiming to strengthen the party’s resistance against Donald Trump.

Throughout her tenure, Crockett has consistently criticized Trump since his election, and she hopes to contribute positively to the party’s direction moving forward.
