Crockett asks witness to play 'Trump or trans' game in House hearing

During a House hearing focused on transgender athletes, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) introduced a game called “Trump or Trans” to engage attendees on Wednesday.

Crockett remarked, “This hearing isn’t about improving government efficiency. It’s just another effort by Republicans to distract from their damaging policies that hinder Americans from reaching their goals.”

She then said, “So, Goth Graves, are you ready for the game?”

Fatima Gos Graves, the CEO of the National Women’s Law Center, confirmed she was prepared.

Crockett continued, instructing Goth Graves to determine if certain statements were attributable to Trump or to the transgender community. The questioning moved into topics like those who “suppress medical research,” “increase all costs,” and “a ridiculous tariff war.”

Goth Graves attributed the responses to Trump throughout the quiz.

In the early days of his second term, Trump’s administration had initiatives aimed at the transgender community, including a January policy defining genders strictly as male and female, and directives to federal agencies against promoting gender transition.

“As of today, the official U.S. government stance is that there are only two genders: male and female,” Trump stated earlier this year during his inaugural address.

Additionally, Attorney General Pam Bondy issued a memo last month calling for an investigation into gender-affirming care for youth.

Bondy expressed concerns in her notes about “the hidden gender ideology of science,” suggesting that treatment for adolescent stress and confusion improperly affirms false identities and that irreversible interventions should not be the solution.

The Hill has reached out to both the White House and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee for their responses.
