Crypto fan takes responsibility for WNBA adult toy events

A self-identified cryptocurrency fan has defended recent incidents involving sex toys being thrown at WNBA games. Interestingly, the individual, despite having been arrested previously for separate offenses, maintains that his intentions were purely humorous and aimed at promoting new coins with the help of his online community.

The individual, who has chosen to remain anonymous, spoke to Outkick just before another event in Chicago, where the league announced its decision to confront this behavior directly. He emphasized that it wasn’t about causing harm, but rather generating laughs.

Earlier this week, an arrest occurred in Atlanta. The suspect, Delbert Carver, apparently claimed he was only monitoring the situation and wasn’t the original instigator. Carver was booked last Saturday in Georgia after a toy-throwing incident. According to documents from the police, Carver allegedly stated that the incident was meant to “go viral” and was just a joke, mentioning he was there with a friend.

It’s somewhat confusing, as an anonymous person conveyed to Outkick that maybe the police had misled Carver or that the situation got out of hand. The details regarding this have left many puzzled.

In response to these incidents, the WNBA has not yet commented on the claims made by the involved individuals. The league previously announced that anyone caught throwing items onto the court would be banned for a year.

There have also been discussions among the involved group about planning additional incidents, including one that reportedly featured Sophie Cunningham, although it didn’t involve throwing anything onto the court. One source even shared that they wanted to replicate the act during an MLB game after witnessing someone at a Marlins-Astros game holding similar items.

As for the incident that occurred at the Chicago Sky game, it remains to be seen if it links back to the cryptocurrency group’s claims. The motives and organization behind these bizarre acts aren’t entirely clear, which adds a layer of intrigue.
