Ohio Man Arrested for Voyeurism in College Locker Room

An individual from Ohio has been taken into custody after reportedly taking unauthorized photos of members of a college women’s soccer team while concealing himself in the ceiling space above their locker room.

According to local reports, Jayson Barker, hailing from Jeffersonville, faces nearly a dozen voyeurism charges after being caught in the ceiling of Wilmington College’s women’s locker room. Officers from the Wilmington Police Department responded to the Scheve Athletic Center on campus just after 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, following complaints that someone was photographing team members while they changed.

Upon arrival, police found Barker already restrained by Wilmington College Campus Safety staff.

Investigators revealed that Barker, who was employed by the college as a contract custodian, had hidden himself in the ceiling area of the locker room prior to being discovered by a team member.

The institution expressed its commitment to the safety and well-being of its students, stating, “We have been providing counseling and other support services for the affected students since Tuesday night and are taking measures to ensure that no student’s safety or well-being is compromised. Additionally, the college is cooperating fully with law enforcement’s investigation.”

Barker faces 11 counts of voyeurism and is currently held at the Clinton County Jail with a bond set at $22,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 5.
