A soccer coach has gained significant attention online for not making eye contact during an interview with an attractive reporter.
David Oulehla, who coaches the Czech team FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem, addressed the media after his team’s loss to SFC Opava. In the video, he seems to be listening carefully to the questions from presenter Sabina Jaksova, but noticeably avoids looking at her directly.
Instead, he keeps his gaze straight ahead or off to the side, his face betraying a look of concern.
A video shared on the club’s TikTok account, which has fewer than 30,000 followers, went viral, amassing 1.8 million views in no time.
Viewers couldn’t help but make jokes about Oulehla’s intense focus. One TikTok user humorously remarked, “Fighting for his life,” while another commented, “Many years of meditation.”
Yet another user humorously noted, “His level of self-control is biblical.”
Jaksova, who is not the only attractive reporter for the club, mentioned that she was approached by the team’s management for the role. “I was both happy and surprised when they contacted me directly with the offer,” she said after joining. “I thought about it for a bit but eventually decided, ‘Why not? I’ll give it a try.’ Although, I had no prior experience, so I learned everything as I went along.”
This interview scenario brings to mind a similar incident from last year, where Shakhtar Donetsk coach Arda Turan also avoided eye contact during an interview with female reporter Daria Savina. He fidgeted throughout, even putting his hands in his pockets.
Additionally, a clip surfaced showing Turan posing for a photo with a female supporter while awkwardly avoiding actual contact. Turan, who is married to Aslihan Dogan, became protective when a reporter tried to approach his wife outside a wedding ceremony, responding sharply with: “Be respectful, or I will crush your head and eyes! You’re talking to my wife.”
