Dabo Swinney discusses why Clemson has been only school that hasn’t landed transfer via portal

In an era when the transfer portal ruled college sports, inactive academies were the only ones that couldn’t acquire players from them.

Clemson University started last year ranked No. 9 in the nation, but the loss to Duke dropped the ranking to No. 25.

After Week 2, the Tigers did not finish in the top 25 until Week 13.

The 2023 season marked the first time since 2010 that Clemson did not win at least 10 games in a season.

(Of course, the Army, Navy, and Air Force do not accept transfers.)

Head coach Dabo Swinney admitted there were “a few players we were considering,” but the feeling about the move is mutual.
