Collin Gray, the father arrested in connection with the Apalachee High School attack, allegedly gave his son the rifle used in the attack last Christmas.
Gray was arrested Thursday. CBS News attention He was charged with “four counts of manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of child abuse.”
Breitbart News pointed to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation that focused not on the fact that the rifle was a Christmas gift, but that the father allegedly “knowingly allowed … his son to possess” it.
Breitbart News also reported that Gray's son, the alleged Apalachee High School attacker, came to the FBI's attention in May 2023, just months before his father allegedly gave his son the rifle.

On September 4, 2024, the 14-year-old boy allegedly retrieved a rifle he had snuck into the school and shot and killed four people.
The attack ended when a good man with a gun confronted him.
