A man aware of the backlash against “Philly’s Cullen” cautions against revealing her identity.
Drew Feltwell is concerned that the internet sleuths might unearth her real name by disrupting her life, which would ultimately harm her and her family.
“Don’t do anything to that woman,” Feltwell remarked, expressing his thoughts to a media outlet. “Just leave it alone. Someone out there knows her and can reach out, but I really don’t want to see her life turned upside down. The internet has already done quite a number on her.”
A viral moment occurred on Friday when a woman made headlines for confronting a Phillies fan after he retrieved a home run ball hit by Harrison Bader.
The ball landed in an empty section of seats at Randepot Park in Miami, where the Phillies were playing the Marlins. Drew Feltwell, who attended the game with his 10-year-old son, Lincoln, successfully retrieved the ball and briefly celebrated together.
However, what should have been a joyful father-son moment soured when a visibly upset woman, sitting nearby, confronted him and began shouting.
The woman believed the ball was rightfully hers since it landed near her. Ultimately, Drew decided to hand her the ball.
“I was just hoping she would leave the scene,” Feltwell shared with a local news channel.
“I could say she got what was coming to her, but I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate,” he reflected on the fans’ reactions that followed her outburst.
While the internet hasn’t definitively identified her, trading card retailer Blowout Cards has dubbed her “Philly’s Cullen.”
“But there’s a twist,” the company stated. “We want her to sign and personalize that ball so we can return it to the child. This is a serious offer from us.”
As of now, “Philly’s Cullen” has not publicly responded to the proposal from the card company.
