Daily Caller columnist Mary Luke praised Republican National Committee Co-Chair Lara Trump for speaking out about the integrity of the election on Trump’s show on Tuesday, and said voters on both sides of the aisle are concerned about the issue.
Luke appeared on Lara Trump’s “The Right View” to discuss key issues for voters in November, including concerns about election transparency and the ongoing border crisis. During a discussion with panelist lawyer Mehek Cook, Lara Trump asked Luke about the apparent backlash to the Republican National Committee’s announcement that it would find and prosecute fraudsters in the upcoming election. “Well, this has to do with two great documentaries we put out at The Daily Caller this year,” Luke said. “One is ‘Rogue: The Death of the American Voter,’ which looks at all the issues with the 2020 election and how it woke up a lot of American voters. It’s not just about the tabulating machines. It’s about the money that’s been poured into counting all those unmonitored ballot boxes. [and] So, you come in as the chairman or vice chairman of the Republican National Committee and say, “Hey, listen, how do we think we’re going to change this? We’re going to solve these problems that everybody across America is worried about.”
“There hasn’t been a single Republican I’ve spoken to in the last three years who hasn’t said, ‘It’s fine if Trump runs again, but what can we do to make sure he doesn’t win the 2024 election?'” she continued. “That’s a top priority, especially for Republicans, but I have Democrats in my family who whisper in my ear, ‘Yeah, but Democrats won in 2020, so why do you think Republicans can win in 2024?'”
“Oh, they know! They know Mary,” Lara Trump interjected.
“Exactly, they know,” Luke responded. “This has been kept secret for a long time and then they overplayed their hand in 2020 and now you’re on the offensive and they’re like, wait, Republicans can’t do anything, they can just sit back and get punched in the face 1,000 times. It’s great that momentum is building and it’s great that things – the major issues for voters – are now being resolved.” [So] Just ignore it. That’s my opinion. Just ignore it and push on. Because the minute you start backing away from that kind of thing. [is] That’s when they knew they had won and they could keep it going.”
Luke blamed the backlash over the Texas Bar’s Lawyer Disciplinary Committee’s attempt to censure then-Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over his efforts to investigate the 2020 election results.
“So we have to give the Republican Party some authority, the ability and the authority to address the issue of election fraud,” Luke said. “And then we have to stand up, as you’re doing right now, and say we’re going to continue to go after those who try to undermine the integrity of our election system, no matter what you say. That’s what’s most important to us, that’s what makes us American: that we can trust what’s going to happen on Election Day. I don’t think the American people have felt that way in the last few years.”
Lara Trump recently announced at a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event that the Republican National Committee is preparing to deploy more than 100,000 election observers and 500 lawyers for the 2024 presidential election. In her address to the audience, the RNC co-chairs warned those considering fraud that the RNC “will find you, we will hunt you down, and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”
