Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has hung up his temporary walking boot. According to ESPN:.
According to the media, he recently suffered a slight sprain in his right foot and needed temporary cleats, but will no longer need to wear them.
The 30-year-old quarterback wore the cleats for a week, The Dallas Morning News reported..
Images were posted on social media on Wednesday of the Cowboys point guard wearing the boots while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas.
Mexican soccer commentator Juan Carlos Vázquez claimed the photo was taken last weekend, but ESPN reported that it was unclear when exactly the picture was taken.
It’s unclear when or how the injury occurred, but Prescott is not expected to be bothered by the time Cowboys training camp opens later this month.
The team’s first practice is scheduled for July 25th.
The Cowboys haven’t held an organized team workout since June 5, which was the final practice of the team’s mandatory two-day minicamp.
Prescott underwent season-ending ankle surgery in 2020 for a compound fracture and dislocation, but he is in the final year of his contract and will make $29 million in 2024.
Fresh off a season in which the Cowboys won the NFC East but were eliminated in the first round of the postseason once again, Prescott was able to post a strong regular season performance.

He threw for 4,516 yards and led the NFL in completions (410) and touchdown passes (36).
