Before tying the knot, Jessica Simpson humorously mentioned dreaming about marrying NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. This revelation came up during a lighthearted chat between Amy Earnhardt and others about the early days of her relationship with Dale.

Amy reminisced about an incident back in 2008, around the time they had just started dating. “I think I still lived in Jacksonville, but I was heading to Daytona to hang out with Dale. I heard Jessica was at the racetrack,” she recounted. The two women share a birthday and both hail from Texas, so there was some mutual admiration there.

Amy expressed her excitement about the possibility of meeting Simpson. “I asked Dale if we could bring her on the bus to meet us, but he was hesitant, saying it wasn’t a great idea,” she explained. So, naturally, Amy pushed back, thinking, “Why not?”

Interestingly, Dale then showed her a clip where Jessica revealed her fantasy of marrying him in a treehouse. This is where Amy decided to draw the line. “I told him, ‘Yeah, let’s not entertain that thought. It’s probably a good call,’” she quipped, jokingly implying that Jessica was perhaps trying to stir things up.

That moment stuck with Amy, and she humorously remarked, “I haven’t been able to buy any of her shoes or bags since. I mean, how does she manage all that? It felt like she was trying to steal my guy’s attention.”

This anecdote dates back to when Amy and Dale were beginning their relationship, and Simpson was quickly gaining fame as a pop star.

Fast forward, and Jessica began seeing Eric Johnson in May 2010. They got engaged six months later and married in 2014 after welcoming their first two kids, Maxwell and Ace, followed by their daughter Birdie in 2019.

Reports from November 2024 indicate that while Jessica focused on her music career again, Eric was seen without his wedding ring, which raised some eyebrows.
