Armed robberies and assaults against postal workers in the Dallas area are on the rise, and the situation has gotten so bad that federal authorities have launched an investigation.
Approximately 2,000 mail carriers have been victims of armed robbery since 2020, according to the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), the union representing U.S. mail carriers.
Recent incidents include a USPS mail carrier who was robbed at an apartment complex in Far North Dallas.
Another worker was robbed a few weeks ago at the Sophia Apartments on Hudnall Street in Dallas. And in late December, another postal worker was robbed on Colonial Avenue in Dallas.

There is a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, FOX 4 reports.
Postal service fights back against crimes such as mail theft and mail fraud
On Thursday, NALC held a rally in Dallas to raise awareness of threats to worker safety.
“Postal carriers are now united in demanding protection from violence and crime on the job,” NALC posted on X (formerly Twitter). “If you’re in the area, please come out and stand with our letter carriers and continue to make our message loud and clear. #EnoughIsEnough!”
“We respect our employees’ right to express their opinions and participate in information picketing activities outside of work hours,” a spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
Last May, the USPS launched an initiative to crack down on mail theft, improve employee safety, and strengthen consumer protection.
