Danica Patrick says she’s tired of hiding her patriotism

Former NASCAR star Danica Patrick told a crowd of Republican supporters that she's tired of being criticized for her patriotism and plans to speak out about it from now on.

At the Donald Trump and J.D. Vance event, the former driver mentioned her upcoming appearance at Turning Point USA's America Fest in December 2023. During the event, she Posted a photo of myself Videos of conservative commentators like Brandon Tatum and Tucker Carlson.

Some were disappointed with her appearance and made it known in the comments section, with one viewer saying they had “no respect whatsoever” for Patrick and calling her attendance at the event “extremely disappointing”, while another commenter claimed they were “horrified” and “speechless” after seeing the pictures.

“I won't be criticized for that. In fact, instead of being quieter, I'm going to be more vocal.”

in video In a post shared on X, Patrick revealed that he decided to take part in the event after his father encouraged him to do so.

“The speakers were really great and I thought, 'This looks fun, they're local,' so I said to my dad, 'Dad, do you want to go?' because he's always been interested in politics, and he said, 'Listen, you should bring your sister,'” Patrick said. Among the photos that touched many hearts was one of him with his sister.

“So my sister flew in and we had a great time. I posted a ton of pictures. I'm not going to lie, red is my favorite color. I don't wear it because I'm a Republican, I wear it because it's my favorite color. It just looks good on me,” she continued at the campaign event.

“So there was definitely a color theme to the photos. And I posted the photos and I said, 'I love America. Let's make America great again.'”

“People hated it,” Patrick continued. “People looked at me like I was like, radical right-wing, MAGA, you know? Like MAGA has a terrible connotation to a lot of people. And you know what happened? It just added fuel to the fire,” she explained.

The former athlete finally stated that he will not be silenced to hide his patriotism.

“I cannot be criticized for living in America, for being an American, for being proud to be an American, for saying I love America, for wanting to make America great again. I will not be criticized for that. In fact, far from being quieter, I am going to be louder.”

Filled with Patrick's powerful words, the video was captioned “I love America. Let's make it great again,” paying tribute to her original post from December.

Like her previous comments, this similar statement left some readers infuriated and horrified.

“Tell me why you support a felon,” one reader wrote, while another commented, “Oh you will be judged.”

Other comments argue that America is already a great country and that Trump needs to be removed from office.

Patrick declined to say whether he plans to hold more events in the future or how he plans to continue to voice his support.
