Tragic Plane Crash Claims Life of Former Drummer
Daniel Williams, the former drummer for the Christian metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, reportedly lost his life in a plane crash on Thursday involving a 39-year-old aircraft.
His family confirmed to TMZ that he was on board a small Cessna when it collided with a US Navy-owned home in San Diego around 4 AM. The news has left everyone, including his family, in a state of shock.
Williams’ father, Larry, expressed confidence that there were no survivors from the incident, although they hadn’t received official confirmation from authorities yet, according to the outlet.
Reports indicate that several individuals on the ground suffered injuries due to the resulting fire from the crash.
In a heartfelt social media post, The Devil Wears Prada shared some pictures of their former drummer, reflecting on his legacy.
Interestingly, just before the tragedy, Williams posted a photo of himself in the co-pilot’s seat of the plane. His father mentioned that his son was joking around in the moment and pointed out that he didn’t hold a pilot’s license.
Williams had been a part of The Devil Wears Prada for several years and was transitioning to a new opportunity as a software engineer, which he shared excitedly on May 14.
Authorities in San Diego are investigating the crash and working to reach out to the victim’s relatives. It’s still unclear how many people were on board the Cessna during the incident.
Reports also suggest that music agent David Shapiro was among those who may have lost their lives in this unfortunate crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
