Danika Mason experienced a 'spiral' following her viral drunk appearance on live television.

Danica Mason recently shared her experiences following a viral moment during her live stand-up at the Winter Olympics.

While on air, the Australian TV personality struggled with her words, which unexpectedly led to significant media coverage. Instead of focusing on Olympic events, she ended up chatting about coffee prices with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Jayne Azorpardi, creating quite the buzz globally.

Mason noted that the aftermath was tough to handle, even with support from figures like Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

She mentioned, “I knew right away that I had made a mistake,” during her appearance on Triple M Rocks Footy NRL. “For the next 24 hours, I was just spiraling, thinking, well, this is it; my job might be gone.”

The reaction she received from the rugby league community was overwhelming. She recalled a conversation with Andrew Johns, who, along with his wife, found humor in the situation and consistently checked in on her. “You can’t really look back at it,” she reflected.

After offering her public apology, Mason found some lightness in the incident, aided by the support of Stefanovic. “He was fantastic,” she said, emphasizing how he encouraged her to address the situation head-on.

She conveyed, “I’m going to apologize; you can’t mock people,” to which he responded, “Perfect, we’re here for you.”

Mason swiftly issued her apology live during the Olympics. “Before we go, I’d like to take a moment to say I’m sorry,” she started. “I’m a bit embarrassed. I misread the situation entirely. Drinking wasn’t a good call, especially with everything going on.”

Pointing to various factors that contributed to her lapse, she added, “It was cold, the altitude was high, and missing dinner was probably not the best decision either.”

She took full accountability, emphasizing that this wasn’t her usual standard. “I truly apologize and appreciate all the supportive messages I’ve received,” she concluded.
