Darius Rucker Engaged to Emily Diehl
Darius Rucker has announced his engagement to Emily Diehl, ending a period of keeping their relationship private. The 59-year-old singer, known for “Wagon Wheel,” shared the exciting news in a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday.
In the caption, he expressed his feelings, stating, “Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I never knew existed. The day I met you, I knew I didn’t want to do anything else without you. Now I don’t have to.”
The Instagram post included a charming black-and-white image of the couple, with Rucker kneeling to propose, while Diehl looks down at him, all smiles. She was dressed casually in a black sweater, her hair pulled back into a ponytail.
The announcement elicited warm congratulations from fans. One commenter noted how nice it was to see the couple find happiness, especially given recent challenges. Another shared excitement for their love, saying, “So happy for you both ❤️.”

In another photo shared in the post, the couple embraced joyfully, with Rucker giving Diehl a sweet kiss on the cheek as she beamed for the camera.
Emily Diehl also took to her Instagram Story to celebrate their engagement. She opened up about initially keeping their relationship under wraps, stating, “I never intended to keep this part of my life away from you guys for this long, but somewhere along the way of loving him, I discovered how sacred love is to me, and all I wanted to do was keep it.” Now, she humorously added, she’s relieved to stop Photoshopping images of him.
Not too long ago, Rucker hinted at their romance with a selfie of them in Las Vegas, captioned with a playful reference to their outing.
This is Rucker’s second engagement; he was previously married to Beth Leonard for nearly 20 years, during which time they welcomed two children: daughter Daniela, 24, and son Jack, 20. He also has a daughter, Carolyn, 30, from a previous relationship.
Post-divorce, Rucker has mentioned in interviews that he and Leonard maintain a close friendship and co-parenting commitment, despite their separation.
Reflecting on the end of his first marriage, he commented on the pain but emphasized they still function as a family for their children.
