Grieving Family Mourns Bronx Security Guard Stabbed to Death

A heartbroken daughter of a Bronx security guard, fatally stabbed by a violent assailant, expressed her sorrow, recalling, “He was the best father ever.” Nana Yaa Fosua Enin, 18, found herself in tears as she recounted her memories of her father, George Henin, who was killed while on his way to work in Mott Haven this week.

George, aged 53 and a father of two, was attacked and stabbed multiple times. “It’s not fair to me,” his daughter said, through her tears. “I couldn’t even touch him. I didn’t know what to do. I wish I could’ve at least held him.”

The last conversation between them took place just two days before his death while she was visiting her aunt in Maryland. “It’s so sad that he’s gone so soon,” she added, highlighting the injustice of the situation. “It wasn’t his time to leave. Someone just cut his life short.”

Police have arrested Sean Jones, a 38-year-old repeat offender with a record of violent crimes in Manhattan and the Bronx. He faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and weapon possession following the unprovoked attack. Jones pleaded not guilty and is currently being held without bail.

George was the oldest of six siblings. His sister, Lucy Adusei, 42, expressed her frustration with New York’s criminal justice system, questioning how someone with Jones’ history could still be free. “I think New York state law is too lenient on these people,” she remarked.

As a psychiatric nurse, Lucy shared her concerns about individuals who may intentionally harm others yet hide behind mental health excuses. “Sometimes they do things like this on purpose,” she said, emphasizing her brother’s undeserved fate and her yearning for justice.

“If it were up to me, a death sentence would be good for him,” she said about the suspect, acknowledging the reality that New York does not have capital punishment. “Even if I get a life sentence, I’m still supporting him with my tax dollars,” she added, reflecting on the flaws in the system.

Lucy also mentioned the haunting nature of the incident, stating, “That video is recorded in my head. You can’t erase those images. They stay with you forever.”

Meanwhile, Regina Adusei Blenfer, 46, faced the tragic duty of informing their mother and other sisters about George’s death. “I said, ‘No, not George, he didn’t have any enemies!’” she remembered. Another sister, Anastasia Brentuo, 52, recounted her shock upon receiving the news, with her sister screaming that George had been stabbed.

“It was unbelievable,” Brentuo said, recalling her mother’s reaction: “I’m going to die here.”

Brentuo described their brother as an innocent soul and a Christian who moved from Ghana to the United States for a brighter future. “He was a good father, a single parent raising two girls,” she reflected, noting the depth of love he had for them.
